Blacktop Mojo | Second Leg of U.S Tour

About Black Top Mojo

A hard-driving Southern rock unit based out of Palestine, Texas, Blacktop Mojo's fiery blend of post-grunge, classic rock, and metal falls somewhere between SoundgardenBlack Stone Cherry, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Founded in 2012 by front-man Matt James and drummer Nathan Gillis, the band eventually morphed into a five-piece with the additions of bass player Matt Curtis and guitarists Ryan Kiefer and Kenneth Irwin. They released their debut album, I Am, in 2014, followed by a heavy bout of touring that saw the group sharing the stage with a wide array of heavy hitters, including Bon JoviSammy HagarCandleboxDarryl “DMC” McDanielsShaman’s HarvestPop EvilPuddle of Mudd, and Drowning Pool.

In 2017, the band teamed up with Muscle Shoals producer Jimmy Johnsonfor their highly anticipated sophomore outing Burn the Ships. The album was released via the band’s label, Cuhmon Records, in March of that year to critical acclaim, and it’s first single, “Where The Wind Blows” reached #27 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, while the band was on its first U.S. tour that fall. Through that tour, they landed a slot on 2018’s Rock Fest, featuring headliners DisturbedIncubus, and Godsmack, among many other industry leading hard rock acts.

At the beginning of 2018, the band has started work on its third full length release, as well as touring to support the second radio single from, Burn The Ships.

Kobra & The Lotus | New Video for "Velvet Roses"

Kobra And The Lotus kept their word and delivered the second part of their opus magnum one year after the successful release of rock juggernaut Prevail IPrevail II is the proverbial yang to the ying and continues right where Kobra And The Lotus left off in 2017.
Last week the band released a new music video for their new song "Velvet Roses".  In less than a week the video has over 60,000 views and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.  Video shows around the country have been adding and featuring 'Velvet Roses' heavily as well!

“Our new music vid for ’Velvet Roses’ is out and we couldn’t be more stoked! This is, across the board, one of the band’s most favorite vids we’ve ever made. High impact, pure rock adrenaline packed with our sense of humor. In a world so full of sh*t, it feels great to not take everything so seriously and let the moment run wild. I hope we inflict some serious smilage!”
— Kobra & The Lotus

In more "Velvet Roses" news, the single is currently climbing the charts, recently debuting at #38 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Indicator Chart!  HardDrive, the nationally syndicated show hosted by Lou Brutus, recently featured "Velvet Roses"on their Smash OR Crash feature, winning it hands down. Kobra wants to remind the fans: "Grab it, stream it, jam it, and don't forget to request 'Velvet Roses' on your local radio station."

Photographing Behemoth

Behemoth is a Polish extreme metal band from Gdańsk, formed in 1991. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground.

Until the late 1990s, the band played a traditional black metal style with heathen lyrical content, but soon changed to that of occult and thelemic themes written by their lead vocalist Nergal and Krzysztof Azarewicz. With the 1999 release of Satanica, the band demonstrated their presence in the death metal scene, while retaining their own signature style characterized by the drum work of Inferno, multi-layered vocals and Middle-Eastern influences. Despite Behemoth having been labeled as death metal or thrash metal-influenced, Nergal has mentioned that he does not like the band to be labeled.

Bands Current Lineup

  1. Adam "Nergal" Darski – lead vocals, guitars (1991–present)
  2. Zbigniew "Inferno" Promiński – drums (1997–1999, 2000–present)
  3. Tomasz "Orion" Wróblewski – bass, backing vocals (2003–present)
  4. Patryk "Seth" Sztyber – guitars, backing vocals (2004–present)
